Los Angeles Corporate Event Photographer

As an experienced Los Angeles corporate event photographer, my priority has always been capturing defining moments of an event that both tell a story and evoke a feeling. Every photograph I make is about something; whether that be an emotion, reaction, or an interaction, I believe there should be meaning behind every photograph.  I know my clients do not need 10,000 mediocre images of their event; they need images that accurately represent their brand, tell a story, and can be used both internally and in their marketing. In short, corporations, brands and nonprofits need photographs they can use. I go into every corporate event with the end use of the photographs in mind and I shoot accordingly to guarantee you receive exactly the type of photography you need within your required delivery time.

Below are a few types of shots you can expect, standard with my event photography coverage. I also created a video on the different shot types I use at an event.

Establishing Shots at Corporate Events

Establishing shots to give a sense of space and more importantly the scale of a corporate event. They can also be a great way to highlight your premiere Los Angeles venue. These are great for social media posts or documentation.

I get photographs from several different perspectives. Example shots include:

A shot of a performer or speaker on stage from the perspective of the audience.

Wide shots from each corner of a banquet hall, convention center, etc.

An exterior shot of a venue.

A wide shot of the floor of a convention center from a floor from above.

Detail Shots at Corporate Events

Detail shots I capture include: venue details, products, event signage, food, and more.

Details matter at a corporate event. I know organizers put in a lot of work to produce an event of any size with many details to show for it. I am also aware that these details are heavily used in social media campaigns. As always, when photographing an event, I shoot with the end use in mind. When photographing an event put on to showcase a product, the product is my focus. You can expect me to get both static shots and shots of attendees interacting with your product. But most importantly, I am there to get the types of images that you are looking for.

Close-up Candid Photography at Corporate Events

Close-up candid photographs of individuals capture the emotional high points of an event. They can be shot in a variety of ways, but usually with a telephoto lens and a shallow depth of field. This minimizes distracting elements and allows a viewer to zero in on, and connect with a moment. These are often the images viewers connect with most. I pay special attention to photographing your VIPs such as guest speakers or your CEO, but as always, I work to maximize my coverage of an event; I try to get a photo of as many attendees as possible.

Candid Interactions of Participants at Corporate Events

Candid interactions are similar to close candids but provide context to the moment you are highlighting. In other words you can see the person or persons the subject is interacting with. I capture joyous, energetic images of people, showing how exciting it was to be at your event.

Group Portraits at Corporate Events

As a roaming event photographer, anytime I see a small group conversing, I am sure to approach them with a smile and simply ask, “hey can I get a shot of you guys?” These shots allow me to be sure I get all of your VIPs in photographs together and help me maximize my coverage, making sure I photograph as many attendees as possible. These are often the types of photos guests at corporate events like to share.

Delivery, Editing, and Stylizing of Your Images

I never shoot for a set number of images. Rather I do my best to make as many meaningful images capturing your corporate event as possible.  You may end up with an image count in the thousands, but no matter how many images you end up with, I can guarantee that they will all be of high quality photographs. My hourly rate always includes edited images in high resolution with basic usage rights. Additionally I am able to provide you with images specifically sized for social media to ensure they are displayed at maximum quality and to make your life easier.

When hiring an event photographer, I understand that  you are choosing someone to create images that accurately represent your event and/or brand. Therefore I avoid overly stylizing images in post.  Heavily edited images will have less latitude should you decide to have them further edited to match your brands visual style. Rather, I focus on a style of shooting that will effectively tell your story and document your event. My images have relatively neutral post processing. This will give you more freedom in how you use and stylize (if necessary) the delivered images to fit your brand.

I understand the need for a fast turnaround time. I offer same day, night of, and even live editing and file delivery.

Los Angeles Party Photographer

When it comes to private parties and events, I understand that people want powerful images that make them feel something. Capturing the height of an expression can serve as a ringing reminder of exactly how someone felt in that moment at your special event. And for those that were not able to attend your event, offer a window into what it was like to have been there. Moments like these tell a story and evoke a feeling regardless of the type of event. These are the types of images I know you will cherish for years to come. As your private event photographer, you can count on me to always shoot with purpose; Every photograph I deliver to you will be about something whether that be an emotional moment, interesting reaction or interaction, or an important detail shot. No filler. That said, I have a very high hit rate and work hard to maximize my coverage of your event. Every job varies, but you can count on about a couple of hundred high quality images per hour of coverage.

Event Photography FAQ

Should I bother hiring a professional event photographer?

The short answer to why you should hire a professional is consistency. Any amateur can get lucky and get one great shot or have the skill to make an excellent image here or there, but a top event photographer in Los Angeles is able to provide you with consistent, high quality results. I strongly recommend reading my article on how to hire a professional photographer for more information.

Does a photographer’s skill matter?

Yes. A photographer with a strong grasp on the technical aspects of photography is able to be most creative. It is important for a photographer to not only understand how their camera works, but to understanding how cameras see in comparison to the human eye. A photographer that understands this is able to effectively execute their vision. You can read more on why a photographer’s skill matters here.

Why are images important to my marketing?

Still images in contemporary marketing are increasingly important. 80% of marketers use visual in their social media marketing while 32% of marketers say visual images are the most important form of content for their business. Visuals are processed 60,000 times faster than text. Social media posts that include an image is 10 times more likely to receive engagement. While shooting corporate or brand events in Los Angeles, how they will be used in social media are always considered by me.

What do you focus on as an event photographer?

It goes without saying that details matter at an event. Much hard work is put into producing an event of any size and part of a photographers job is to capture that. But, a photographer’s priority should be on capturing defining moments of an event that both tell a story and evoke a feeling. Every image I make is about something, whether that be an emotion, reaction, or an interaction, there is always a meaning behind the photograph. I believe that images like these are what offer a window into what it was like to be there. These are also the images most effective in social media.

What is your photographic style?

I do not believe in developing an arbitrary aesthetic style. Rather, I focus on capturing authentic emotion filled moments and interactions. When hiring a professional photographer, you are selecting someone to make images that accurately represent your event and/or brand. Therefore, my images are not overly stylized in post as they will have less latitude should you decide to have them further edited to match your own visual style. Rather than providing overly stylized images, I focus on making images that effectively tell your story or document your event. This will give you more freedom in how you use and stylize (if necessary) the delivered images.

What is event photography?

Event photography can be a wide category of professional photography. We often think of wedding and mitzvah photographers as their own genre of photography, so typically when referring to event photography we are talking about everything else such as birthday parties, corporate events, conferences, red carpets, award ceremonies, marketing events etc.

Should I hire a photographer that specializes in event photography?

Absolutely, yes. Although a wedding photographer is essentially photographing wedding events, they may not be familiar with the the specific formats of corporate or other types of events. Each type of event has its own format that an experienced event photographer will be familiar with. Additionally, the intended use of the images vary. Experienced event photographers understand how their images will be used and shoot accordingly.

What sort of events do you cover?

I cover all sorts of events both private and corporate. This includes but is not limited to: birthday parties, corporate events, conferences, quinceaneras, red carpets, award ceremonies, marketing events, Bar Mitzvahs and Bat Mitzvahs, and religious ceremonies of all types.

How do you handle low lighting situations?

I have both the knowledge and the gear to handle low light situations. Gear includes appropriate cameras, lenses, and strobes.

Do you backup my images?

All of your images are backed up on multiple hard drives as well as archived online for you. You will have access to your images at any time.

Do you have liability insurance?

Yes I do. I am fully insured.

Do you provide videography services

Who will be photographing my event?

How many images are included in your rate?

This varies, but on average you can expect somewhere above 150 images per hour.

How do you choose which images are delivered?

I make sure every image offers something unique. I do not put the burden of selecting which of two nearly identical images is best on my client. I know my clients do not need 10,000 mediocre images: they need images that accurately represent their brand, tell a story, and can be used in their marketing.

How much editing is included?
